Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s Degree and two years of directly related, progressively responsible, full-time administrative experience may be considered. Additionally, one (1) year of full-time administrative experience in a research setting. Excellent computing skills with high proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet management, electronic messaging, and internal applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Apps, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Administrative experience supporting Principal Investigator(s) in an academic/university/research setting. Additionally, experience with Research Foundation and/or SUNY policies. Also, experience managing a budget, and working with HR policies and procedures. Furthermore, experience with purchasing/procurement procedures and the administration of grants.

Duties

  • Work in consultation with Project Directors to prepare grant proposals, projections, and reports for various DOE, NSF, BNL, and other sources, for multimillion-dollar research grants.
  • Also, serve as a resource person to faculty, staff, and students to enable group members to successfully navigate and interpret university, state, and federal policies and regulations by use of the internet, talking to relevant authorities by telephone, and attending meetings and workshops offered by the university.
  • Likewise, the incumbent is responsible for all human resources transactions such as advising/drafting position descriptions, advertising copy, recruitment, hiring, promotions, salary increases, and termination transactions. Ensure proper compliance with AA/EEO.
  • Also, he/she will initiate numerous communications with personnel and INS to provide and maintain the proper visa status of foreign hires including foreign students.
  • Likewise, maintain records for faculty, students, and adjunct faculty associated with CASE.
  • Manage and direct expenditures from all funding sources.
  • Additionally, independently assign a source of funding for all purchases and maintain authority over expenditure of funds.
