General Summary/Purpose

The REACH Initiative at The Johns Hopkins School of Nursing is a center within The Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.  The Sr. Research Data Analyst will help to oversee and assist with the data collection and the transformation of data in collaboration with other study members, supporting custom analysis and preparing reports from preliminary analysis, which could be used for publications, presentations under the supervision of the Center Director.

Duties

• Execute sophisticated statistical analyses of complex clinical trials and observational studies. Assist with the development and implementation of novel methodologies under the direction of Principal Statistician and PI of the projects.
• Additionally, filter and “clean” data, and review computer reports, printouts, and indicators to locate and correct code problems. Design strategies, analyses, and data codebooks.
• Also, oversees & performs constructions of datasets, variables & data cleaning.
• Help to produce tables and graphs in publication-quality form, & present results to senior investigators.
• Similarly, the incumbent serves as a quality control checkpoint person for data collection and analyses (conducted by self or others).
• Provide preliminary and interim analyses of data; additionally, perform statistical calculations under the guidance of the Center Director and to assist with the preparation of reports, scientific abstracts, and method section of manuscripts related to projects.
• Likewise, performs analyses on large, complex datasets, and documents analyses using STATA.
• Prepare data & analysis reports regarding the status of the database & analytical activities as well as review reports to verify data.
• Furthermore, present & disseminate information & data analyses.

Qualifications for Vacancy for Research Data Analyst

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

Master’s degree in a related discipline. Typically require a Ph.D.

One (1) year related experience. Require highly specialized advanced knowledge, education, and/or training in a specialized field of study to conduct research.

Also, demonstrated ability on a significant graduate project or additional doctoral education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

Three years of related experience.

• STATA
• MS Excel
• Similarly, strong quantitative skills, and applied data analysis, including mediation and moderation analyses
• Likewise, experience with large data set management required.
