General Summary/Purpose:
This Research Data Analyst will support research and policy guidance of optimal targeting of oral cholera vaccination campaigns.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The incumbent will do the following duties
- Conduct analyses on historical cholera data to explore the implications of different OCV prioritization schemes on global vaccine use and public health impact.
- Additionally, adapt an existing cholera vaccination model into an R package and produce estimates of vaccine impact according to VIMC scenarios and guidelines
- Furthermore, in collaboration with WHO, CDC, Gavi and the GTFCC, develop policy guidance on OCV prioritization
- Also, work with Ministries of Health in 2-3 select countries to assist with their assessment of historical cholera risk and prioritization of cholera control areas (30-40% travel, COVID-19 restrictions permitting)
- Likewise, based on country cholera control priorities, help countries use the proposed OCV prioritization guidance to select target populations for vaccination
Qualifications for Vacancy for Research Data Analyst
The candidate must meet the following requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (Epidemiology or similar)
- Also, 3 years related experience
- Furthermore, additional education (Master’s level or higher) may substitute for required experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong skills in practical data analysis and/or modeling
- Likewise, proficiency in R (or another programming language)
- Previous experience in developing R packages is highly desired
- Experience with GIS software an asset
- Also, working with Ministries of Health in Africa and Asia an asset
- Experience collaborating with WHO and NGOs desirable
- Previous work on cholera is ideal but not required
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
