General Summary/Purpose:
The Research Program Assistant works for the Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health (Center) as part of its infectious disease prevention team. This is a full-time position. This position works together with the Center’s field and Baltimore-based research team to assist in the development, coordination and delivery of field-based public health services.
Duties
- Serve as a Research Program Assistant for the Center’s field-based infectious disease prevention projects.
- Similarly, specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Screening of eligible participants for participation in research and service projects.
- Also, administering informed consent.
- Additionally, travel to and perform home and hospital-based visits as required by the study protocols.
- Collection and processing of specimens per study protocol and site policies.
- Data collection, review for document accuracy and processing as needed.
- Coordination of study documentation (printing/ filing/copying/scanning for transmission to appropriate field sites and the Baltimore-based research office).
- Likewise, transportation of and delivery of services to enrolled study participants as directed by field-based Investigators, Supervisors and Coordinators.
- Provide follow-up services to individuals as outlined in the study protocol.
- Furthermore, facilitation of community-based meetings and events including the presentation of study approval requests, project progress and goals achieved.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Similarly, some related experience.
- Also, additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) may substitute for the required experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prefer some related coursework or administrative experience.
- Also, some college courses preferred.
- Likewise, a bachelor’s degree with prior experience in the health sciences is preferred.
- Native speakers preferred.
