About the Role
- The Child Protection Officer reports to the Chief Child Protection for supervision.
- He/she provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for child protection programs/projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results.
- Also, h/She prepares, executes, manages, and implements a variety of technical and administrative program tasks to facilitate program development, implementation, program progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting.
- Furthermore, the candidate will be responsible for MCO’s initiatives and efforts to end violence, particularly to expand preventive strategies.
- Likewise, the candidate conducts and updates the situation analysis for the development, design, and management of child protection related programs.
- In addition to that, he/she contributes to the development and establishment of sectoral program goals, objectives, strategies, and results-based planning.
- Furthermore, the candidate prepares regular and mandated sectoral program/project reports for management, donors, and partners.
- Similarly, the incumbent builds and sustains close working partnerships with government counterparts and national stakeholders.
Qualifications
The candidate should meet the given criteria for the Child Protection Officer Vacancy at UNICEF in Mexico
- A university degree in one of the following fields is required: international development, peace and conflict studies, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or another relevant social science field.
- Also, a minimum of two years of professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection related areas is required.
- Furthermore, he/she should have programming experience in violence prevention.
- Also, experience working in a developing country is an asset.
- Additionally, relevant experience in program development in child protection related areas in a UN system agency or organization.
- Likewise, the incumbent should have experience in both development and humanitarian contexts.
- Moreover, the candidate must have fluency in Spanish and English.
