WHO Office in Myanmar invites eligible candidates to apply for the available vacancy of Data Assistant

Position Summary 

The incumbent works under the overall supervision of the WHO Representative in Myanmar, the technical guidance of the Medical Officers (HIV/AIDS) and Technical Officer (HIV/AIDS) in collaboration with the National AIDS Programme and Drug Dependency Treatment and Research Unit of Ministry of Health and Sports. The Data Assistant provides technical support to the National AIDS Programme or Drug Dependency Treatment and Research Unit. He/she needs to coordinate with focal from MoHS, UN agencies, development partners, and implementing partners. In addition to that, the position holder works together with the Central Project Coordinator/Field project Coordinator/Field Assistant of respective state/region as a team. He/she will also work as a part of the WHO HIV-AIDS team in achieving goals of the National Strategic Plan of HIV in collaboration with different stakeholders working on HIV/AIDS.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ensuring the complete and accurate data entry of register and records at implementation sites especially ART centers, and also supporting to prepare the quality reports.
  • Similarly, supporting the National AIDS Programme with a regular collection of HIV program data, as well as information on program activities and commodities for timely submission of reports to the central level.
  • Informing respective NAP focal person and WHO Field/Central Project Coordinators for any discrepancy.
  • Updating the database regularly with a standardized format, developed by NAP and UN Partners on HIV/AIDS, at the assigned duty station in order to facilitate data analysis and ensure the integrity of data and make back-up files as per standard operating procedures.
  • Assisting respective NAP personnel for timely implementation of the Global Fund work plan.
  • Working together with the Central Project Coordinator/Field project Coordinator/Field Assistant of respective state/region as a team.
  • Furthermore, performing other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements 

  • University degree (Mathematics, computer sciences, data management or other related fields). In addition to that, training on electronic-based health information system used by National AIDS Programme (Eg. DHIS2, OpenMRS) is an asset
  • At least two-year experience as data entry, data management or related positions that require the use of computers is necessary.
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English as well as knowledge of Myanmar Language.

Competencies 

  • Excellent computer operating and presentation skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of excel, word, PowerPoint, outlook, data management software, and internet searching engines. Similarly, knowledge of computer hardware and software would be an asset.
  • Be a good team player for the smooth implementation of the program.
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Very good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well with others in a difficult working environment and positively relate to people at all levels from different cultural and educational backgrounds.
