About the position

The Evidence and Impact Manager role will be responsible for designing robust systems for measuring impact, value for money/return on investment within new and existing projects, products and programmes, to build a better evidence base for proving programmatic and organisational impact. This will require investigating and testing new methodologies and processes  and contributing to the overall enhancement of programme quality at Christian Aid, across a range of different programme types.

The role will line manage two Monitoring and Evaluation Specialists and a Business Support Officer and since Christian Aid works on a partnership model the role will have a particular focus on enhancing country programme and partner staff capacity in all aspect of programme cycle management.

The Evidence and Impact Manager sits within the Programme Strategy and Innovation Hub within the Programme Innovation and Funding Department. The role will work cross organisationally, collaborating closely with other hubs within PIF, country programme staff/programme quality/ID, REL, Digital Transformation team, SPD, Finance to provide the advice and support required in the development of new projects and product development to ensure good practice, value for money, maximise learning and impact. It will include investigating and testing new methodologies and processes where appropriate and contributing to the overall enhancement of programme quality at Christian Aid. The role provides input into new proposals around MEL, as well as designing new MEL frameworks for new projects.

Salary

£40,976 – £42,500

Requirements

  • Education to degree level in a subject area relevant to international development or equivalent
  • Relevant undergraduate or postgraduate qualification or other evidence of highly developed analytical ability
  • Extensive programme cycle experience within an NGO
  • Field level experience working directly with poor communities
  • Familiarity with a wide range of M&E methods and experience of M&E design and use of theories of change
  • Proven experience of developing MEL frameworks and tools with partners
  • Experience of inclusion-sensitive tool design
  • Experience of commissioning/managing consultants
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Ability to multi task – working on a number of varied projects at the same time
  • Proven experience of effective line management
