Field Assistant for UN WOMEN, Jordan

UN WOMEN is hiring a dynamic, motivated, and well-qualified Field Assistant in Jordan to carry out operations and implementation. He/She will work under the supervision and guidelines of the Field Officer. The position holder has to further coordinate with different functional bodies and chains for the smooth implementation of a mission.

Roles and Responsibilities 

Administrative 

  • Follow up with local partners on implementing activities, including the monitoring of work plans and activities.
  • Report on daily basis activity progress.
  • Closely work with the project team to facilitate the preparations and implementation of field activities, events, assessments, and support if needed admin/finance exercises including petty procurement, purchasing, invoicing and reporting.
  • Facilitate meetings with counterparts in the governorates.
  • Organizes and schedules events and meetings

Technical 

  • The Field Assistant is responsible for on-the-ground preparations of activities in the assigned governorate and in coordination with the Field Officer for the implementation of the project activities, events, and communications.
  • Participates in internal and external coordination meetings representing the project;
  • Support the production of any material needed for information purposes, such as reports, articles for the web, brochures, films, etc.
  • Follow up operations in the field, day to day management and delivery of the activities and facilitation of knowledge sharing.
  • Timely reports are shared.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Community College Diploma in social sciences, economics, business administration or any related field.
  • 2 years of working experience in the field of development.
  • Knowledge of and/or working with CBO’s and local government is an asset.
  • Excellent facilitation and coordination skills;
  • In-depth knowledge of gender equality and women’s rights issues;
  • Ability to communicate sensitively across different focal points.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UN system and familiarity with inter-governmental processes.
