The United Nations calls application for the Director of Human Resources in the chamber of the United Nations Development Programme. This job vacancy is available in the Human Resources Management Division of UN Women in UN HQ, New York, United States.

The incumbent is responsible for directing and managing the Human Resources (HR) function, including the development and implementation of the overall corporate human resources strategy, and ensuring its alignment with the vision and goals of the Organization. In addition to that, s/he provides leadership and strategic direction on HR issues and ensures the best-practice delivery of human resources services. The position will also lead and manage an HR team responsible for strategy and service delivery in the specialized areas of HR Planning, Organizational Design and Job Classification, Policy Development and Interpretation, Recruitment, Talent Management, and Staff Development, Contracts and Entitlements and Staff Wellness.

Summary of Duties

  • Strategy and policy conceptualization and development within the UN HR framework.
  • Planning and forecasting HR needs and anticipating new issues.
  • Similarly, oversight and management of all HRM function from organizational design to staff well-being. Effective delivery of integrated HR services within the organization.
  • Lead and manage the HR team for high-quality outputs and results in support of the UN.
  • Promote and facilitate change management within UN Women.
  • Furthermore, knowledge Management and UN System Partnership on HRM.

Education and Experience 

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business or Public Administration or Management, law, social sciences or a related field.
  • In addition to that, fifteen years of experience in human resources management including considerable experience at a senior level in the public or private sector or in an international organization;
  • Demonstrated professional competence in organizational development and change in management.
  • Also, the ability to lead in a fast-changing environment.
  • Knowledge of the conditions of service of the UN Common System or of international organizations will be considered an asset.
