Position: Director of Audiology- Asst/Assoc/Full Professor on Academic Track

Duties

  • Provide clinical leadership in audiology to audiology staff and faculty and otolaryngology faculty, and otolaryngology focusing on the Division of Otology and Neurotology.
  • Assume the clinical leadership responsibilities in collaboration with the Otolaryngology Department Chair, and in partnership with the administrative dyad partner.
  • Develop new clinical programs to ensure that the University of Minnesota remains at the forefront of treatment options.
  • Responsible for on-going competency and clinical training of audiology practitioners.
  • Bring visibility to establish clinical programs in cochlear implantation, skull base surgery, and develop a tertiary care practice in vestibular disorders.
  • Academic responsibilities will include teaching residents, fellows, medical students as well as audiology student interns and externs.
  • Initiate and maintain a research program focused on one or more areas of audiology such as vestibular research and clinical neurophysiology.
  • Provide expertise and support for resident and fellow research in the area of expertise.
  • Where appropriate, initiate proposals for external funding.

Requirements 

  • Doctorate in Audiology or Hearing Science in addition to a professional degree (e.g.  MA/MS+PhD or Au.D. + Ph.D.).
  • A track record in a medical setting with demonstrated effective interaction and collaboration with physician colleagues.
  • Experience as a provider in one or more areas of audiology and/or vestibular sciences.
  •  Strong communication skills and has a proven track record to lead colleagues.
