About CERN

The European Organization for Nuclear Research (also known as CERN) is the European research organization. It operates the largest Particles Physics laboratory in the world. This 1954 established organization has 23 member countries. Using the world’s largest and most complex scientific instruments, scientists of CERN studies basic constituents of matter – fundamental particles that collide together at close to the speed of light. In general, CERN’s main function is to provide the particle accelerators and other infrastructure for high-energy physics research. And as a result, numerous experiments have been constructed at CERN through international collaborations.

About position

The appointee will join the Neutrino Platform Project and contribute to the success of one of the most important physics center in the world. However, the CERN Neutrino Platform is CERN’s main contribution to a globally coordinated program of neutrino research.

In particular, the position holder will be performing the following duties

  • Lead the design and construction of large membrane cryostats to be used in short and long neutrino baselines facilities, dark matter experiment and other possible application. Similarly, lead a team of designers and engineers.
  • Act as a reference person for the deployment of the membrane cryostats for several detectors, driving the design, construction, installation, and commissioning, taking a leading role in the components selection and procurement and taking responsibility for their safety compliance.
  • Also, lead a team of technicians in the field during the construction phase. Similarly, supervise the activities of various specialized firms contracted for such activities.
  • Furthermore, participate in the R&D program of the team for the next generation of detectors, with a particular focus on construction aspects.

Required qualifications and requirements
