Position: News writer/ Anchor

About position

The most prestigious and famous radio station of the world, iHeartRADIO is seeking dynamic, enthusiastic, robust and News writer/Anchor. Basically, he/she will be responsible for coverage and broadcast of news on the channel,

Roles and responsibilities

  • Gathers and verifies factual information through interviews, observation, and research.
  • Monitors sources for breaking news, e.g., wires and social media.
  • Plans, writes, edits, and voices news broadcasts. Similarly, finalizes content using digital audio editing software.
  • Maintains crucial deadlines in order to provide news stories in a timely fashion.
  • Repackages content from producers and field reporters for newscasts.
  • Identifies technical equipment and resource requirements for recording interviews and other audio material.
  • Produce features and interviews as assigned if necessary.
  • Similarly,  specialize in a particular field of news broadcasting occasionally.
  • In addition to that, might prepare written content, visual images, audio material and video footage for websites, blogs or other social media platforms.

Required qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor degree (preferably in Journalism or Communication).
  • At least 3 years of experience in the related field.
  • Pleasant, appealing and calm voice as well as excellent pronunciation ability.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite and social networking platform.
  • Strong writing and editing skills. Also, well knowledge of grammar.
  • Knowledgeable and up-to-date with local and national trends and/or specialized knowledge of subjects/events related to on-air topics.
  • Proficient in media production and broadcast systems, experience with RCS News and NexGen is a plus.
  • Ability to plan and organize, set priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently in some circumstances.
