Job Purpose

  • Under the overall guidance of the Chief, non-core global funds management unit, the Programme Specialist is responsible for the coordination, with implementing units and Fund advisors, of programmatic and reporting activities related to non-core global funds.
  • Furthermore, he/she analyzes and interprets UNFPA’s policies, rules and regulations as well as donor reporting requirements and ensures the compliance of reporting.
  • Additionally, the Programme Specialist promotes a collaborative and integrated client-oriented approach consistent with UNFPA’s rules and regulations.

Duties for Program Specialist Vacancy in the USA

The incumbent will do the following duties

  • Contribute to the implementation of a quality assurance framework for reporting related to global non-core funds;
  • Additionally, working with all parties internally and externally, provide support to implement a cohesive and coordinated approach to joint annual work planning and reporting;
  • Similarly, support the Governance Body meetings as rapporteur and prepare related material
  • Furthermore, support planning and design of internal communications strategies between the Secretariat and all parties involved in delivering activities funded through global non-core funds
  • Also, assistance in the development of an annual documentation framework and publications plan.

Qualifications

Education

  • Advanced University Degree in international development, economics, public administration and information, business administration, social sciences, public health or related fields in media relations, communications, publishing or related fields.

Knowledge

  • Liaise with all parties involved to gather material and review narrative inputs for mid-year and end of year reporting activities;
  • Also, contribute to the incorporation of evaluation results in mid-year and end of year reporting activities
  • Similarly, provide guidance and support to technical experts in finalizing their end of year reports for donors
  • Furthermore, finalize inputs from all stakeholders and produce narrative annual reports to donors;
  • Also, facilitate knowledge building and sharing.

Languages

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Working knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
