Apply for the position of Programme Assistant in the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)!
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger. FAO goal is to achieve food security for all and make sure that people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active healthy lives.
Under the direct supervision of the National Professional Officer (Programme Team Leader), the UN Volunteer will:
Provide support to the collection, consolidation and maintenance of country data on food, crops, livestock, forestry and fisheries
Economic and policy studies, as required
the development of country-level development frameworks
Participate in the identification, formulation and preparation of programme and project proposals Support liaison
Also, collaboration with donor(s) and with institutional and non-institutional partners concerned with FAO Programme in Kosovo
Participate in conferences, meetings, reviews and consultations for the development and implementation of the FAO Programme in Kosovo
Support FAO project office in Kosovo for a successful implementation of other projects activities Support the preparation of briefs and updates to FAO Management

Requirements
3 years of experience in agriculture, rural development, international relations, sociology, development economics, social/political science, business administration or public administration, or a field related to FAO’s technical work
Relevance of experience in planning and monitoring advocacy activities and reviewing policy, institutional frameworks as well as in monitoring related systems
Previous experience as a volunteer at local, national or international levels is an asset
Ability to work accurately under pressure paying attention to details.
Autonomy and capacity to prioritize requested actions in order to meet all the deadlines.
Excellent English writing and reporting skills
Good analytical skills
Areas of expertise: Development programmes, Crisis and emergency response
Fluency in English, as well as for Albanian, is required
Moreover, Bachelor degree or equivalent in agriculture, rural development, international relations, sociology, development economics, social/political science, business administration or public administration, or a related field.
