Join UNDP as its Project Coordinator, grade P3 position in the area of Crisis management / Country Management Support.
UNDP is the knowledge frontier organization for sustainable development in the UN Development System. It serves as the integrator for collective action to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Project Coordinator reports to the Project Manager of the Global Programme on Rule of Law and Human Rights with a second reporting line to the Chief of the Conventional Arms Branch at UNODA.
Duties and Responsibilities
- lead day-to-day management aspects of SALIENT to ensure the systematic delivery of high-quality support and sustained tracking of meaningful results achieved.
- support engagement with current and prospective partners
- support research and analysis initiatives that support the efforts of the SALIENT team to develop policy and advance advocacy and knowledge.

Required Skills and Experience
- Advanced university degree (Master’s level) in law, development, political science, international relations or another relevant field.
- 5 years of relevant professional experience; SALW and AVR programming would be an asset.
- Proven experience coordinating projects or programmes in the context of international development; specific experience within UNDP or the UN system would be an asset;
- Knowledge of UN or similar organization regulations, rules, policies, procedures as well as practices are required; knowledge of UNDP-specific policies and procedures would be an asset;
- Previous experience building partnerships as well as liaising with the Member States and other partners, including mobilizing support from a wide range of partners and organizing high-level meetings.
- Previous experience with MPTF and the UN Peacebuilding Fund would be an asset.
- Fluency in English both written as well as oral.
- In addition, fluency in another UN language, especially French, is an asset.
Please note that continuance of appointment beyond the initial 12 months is contingent upon the successful completion of a probationary period.
