About FHI 360

FHI 360 (formerly Family Health International) is a non-profitable humanitarian organization with headquarter in North Carolina. Since its establishment in 1971, it has been serving more than 70 countries to upgrade health standards. Basically, this organization works to prevent several infectious and chronic diseases. However, it has been fighting to prevent HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Tuberculosis, etc since its first day of operation.

About position

The FHI 360 is seeking enthusiastic, caliber and prominent Project Director to lead, guide and supervise all whole project in Kosovo. S/he will have overall responsibility in the areas of operations, administration, logistics, procurement, budgeting, and financial accounting. In addition to that, the position holder will supervise the recruitment, hiring, and supervision of all local staff and consultants.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading the project’s team and serving as the primary point of contact with the funding authority and FHI 360 home offices regarding the day-to-day activity implementation and management matters relating to the contract.
  • Ensure the activity is coordinated and implemented in an effective and cohesive manner;
  • Manage the preparation and presentation of work plans, M&E plans, and all reports to the donor.
  • Act as the primary interlocutor with CSSF;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for information on the progress and status of all activities under the project.
  • Collaborate with other donor-funded programs supporting media and cross-border relations to ensure complementarity and to avoid duplication;
  • Similarly, liaise with other relevant donor-funded programs to ensure coordination and effective and efficient use of all donor resources.

Minimum qualifications

  • Master’s degree in international development, international relations, political science, law, public administration, conflict management or other related fields.
  • In addition to that, 15 years of relevant professional and progressive experience in managing development assistance. Other than that, field experience in governance reforms, political advocacy, peacebuilding/conflict, behavioral change, and civil society programs.  

Furthermore,

  • Proven record of excellent management, leadership, and decision-making skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and navigate politically sensitive terrain;
  • Familiarity with FCO/DFID programming, rules, and regulations and also, experience in managing UK or EU funded programs in Kosovo, Serbia and/or the Balkans is desired.
  • Extensive networks within Kosovo/Serbia civic, political, and media sectors.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; fluent in Albanian or Serbian; preferred fluent in all three.
