Position: Research Officer

About Transparency International 

Transparency International is an international non-governmental organization with head office in Berlin, Germany. Since its establishment in 19993, it has been taking action to combat global corruption with civil societal anti-corruption measures and to prevent criminal activities arising from corruption. The organization defines corruption as the abuse of entrusted power for private gain which eventually hurts everyone who depends on the integrity of people in a position of authority.

About position

The organization is seeking a prominent and capable Research Officer for developing and delivering robust evidence-based research. Also, the policy across the Health Initiative’s priority areas. The position holder will be performing the following duties

  • Research and research design, including qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods.
  • Contributing to policy research and development, including the existing Open for Contracting for Health project.
  • Supporting the development of relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners stakeholders including the World Health Organisation.
  • Similarly, supporting the development of (multi-million £) fundraising proposals, including the delivery of expert policy input.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of TI HI’s communications and advocacy strategies, including writing draft content.

Required qualifications

  • Masters degree in International Development or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • In addition to that, a  proven track record of delivering draft research papers and publications.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing research proposals and methodologies.
  • Experience or an interest in working with and on issues relating to the private (ideally pharmaceutical or medical device) sector. Similarly, experience or an understanding of bilateral and multilateral partners and donors, including WHO.
  • Knowledge of developing funding proposals as well as prior experience or understanding of the global/public health sector.
