Details
Apply for the fixed-term appointment position of Technical Officer (Data Management) in UNAIDS. The position is a one-year contract in Yangon, Myanmar.
UNAIDS is leading the global effort to end AIDS as a public health threat by 2030 as part of the Sustainable Development Goals. It places people living with HIV and people affected by the virus at the decision-making table and at the center of designing, delivering, and monitoring the AIDS response.
Provide technical support in managing the HIV information system
Support the M&E review process on data management information in national HIV response as relevant.
Develop tools to harmonize data collection and processes across HIV stakeholders in the country to facilitate the consolidation of information.
Provide capacity building in generating and management of HIV-related data and health information at the national as well as sub-national levels.
Also, liaise with the developer and HIV stakeholders to support the development of the system, applications, and related functions and maintenance of data updates based on the established reporting schedule.
Collect and collate data from various sources (nationally and internationally). The data on the HIV epidemic and response will be validated, analyzed, triangulated, as well as synthesized into strategic information for HIV stakeholders.
In addition, develop data products such as country data spreadsheets, infographics, PowerPoint slides, maps, and national or thematic reviews, using national and sub-national data, disaggregated by gender, age, and key populations for the epidemic in Myanmar to support geographic prioritization of interventions.
Respond to specific information requests from HIV stakeholders to ensure dissemination of information and knowledge sharing to relevant stakeholders.
Keep a reference library that will contribute to the national HIV research inventory. This library will include literature on service delivery models to support HIV prevention, testing, and treatment.
Draft semi-annual report to CDC as well as UNAIDS HQ under the supervision of SIA.
Minimum two years of professional experience working in Myanmar in the area of research, data and/or information management, and analysis
Also, proven advanced knowledge of Excel and Access.
S/he should also be familiar with the HIV epidemic and the national response in Myanmar.
In addition, proven analytical thinking, drafting, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Desirable:
Experience in the UN system, experience with people living with HIV.
Knowledge of Health Information systems, mapping software, and other statistical packages is desirable.
Language
Essential:
Advanced level of written and spoken English. Fluent in Burmese.
Desirable:
Knowledge of another UN official language.
