UNDP Project Associate -Human Rights, HIV and Development in Mbabane, Eswatini
UNDP is hiring a Project Associate for Eswatini, supporting UBRAF allocation and WBA program. Reporting to the DRR and supervised by the Governance Specialist, the role ensures inclusive program design and implementation with key populations.
Duties and Responsibilities for UNDP is hiring a Project Associate
Under the supervision of the Government Specialist, the Project Associate is expected to:
- Support the formulation and implementation of HIV, Health, and Development programme strategies, workplans, and budgets for Eswatini in order to advance the promotion and inclusion of the LGBTI and key populations in policy, laws, programmes, and social justice related programmes and projects. Additionally ensure full integration of the WeBelong Africa into the Eswatini Country Office programme portfolio and contribute programme information to Country Office planning, budgeting, and reporting processes;
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the WBA-YKP Project in Eswatini, including provision of technical support to partners, organization of events and meetings, research and preparation of reports and tools, and collection and reporting of relevant data and information for measuring success of the programme in line with the WBA Results Framework and UBRAF country office deliverables;
- Facilitate knowledge building, usage and dissemination of products generated and published by the HHD regional team, its partners and other relevant institutions in the continent including supporting the translation and review of some knowledge products;
- Facilitate and support partnerships and collaboration between the UNDP country office and the UNDP WBA regional team, and between UNDP and other UN Agencies, Government institutions, bilateral partners, academia and Civil society organization for the effective management and implementation of WBA in Eswatini;
- Support the Eswatini CO to scale up impact and achieve transformative results for gender equality in alignment with the UNDP Gender Equality Strategy 2022-2025.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Completion of High School education is required;
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Health, Development Studies, Social Science, Governance and Human Rights or other relevant field is desirable but not a requirement.
Experience:
- Minimum 7 years (with High School Education) or 4 years (with Bachelor’s Degree) of experience in project cycle management including strategy development, work planning, monitoring, and reporting;
- At least two years of previous experience in project management, HIV/AIDS and key populations related issues in Eswatini will be an added advantage;
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.)

- Experience working on human rights issues with governments, human rights bodies, civil society, and development partners in the Africa Region;
- Experience working with the UN, donors, multilateral organizations, and NGOs is necessary and essential;
- Demonstrable experience in developing resources or dissemination material pertaining to LGBTI rights, HIV, and human rights will be an advantage;

Desired Skills:
- Experience working with or for the United Nations Development system;
- Strong communication skills including facilitation, documenting and disseminating project results;
- Experience in establishing partnerships and relationship management especially working with Key populations;
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.);
- At least 1 year experience in monitoring and evaluation;
- Demonstrated expertise on policy and programmes relating to Human Rights and Sexual and Gender Diversity.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English and working knowledge of Siswati.
