Duties
- Create and develop branded products for high-visibility campaigns and outreach programs; make comprehensive presentations of design proposals.
- Additionally, the candidate should plan, develop and build upon the UN Secretariat’s brand strategy and visual identity guidelines.
- Furthermore, he/she will contribute to overseeing and coordinating the design and production of the Unit’s projects; establish project objectives, and lead design from the initial planning stages through completion; provide updates and solicit feedback on projects from team and stakeholders; bring state of the art practices, techniques, technologies, and approaches to bear on the Organization’s graphic design work.
- Similarly, supervise designers on the team and provide them with guidance and feedback throughout the design and production process.
- Also, represent the work of the unit at various internal and external meetings; organize or participate in working groups related to the formulation of policies and procedures to streamline graphic design production and workflows; assist with administrative functions, recruitment of staff and budget planning.
- Furthermore, perform other duties as prescribed by the Team Leader of the Unit.
Qualifications
For the Vacancy for Graphic Design Officer at UN in USA,
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Brand and Graphic Design, Master of Arts in Graphic Communications or related area.
- UN may accept first-level university degree in Graphic Design or related area in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in brand and graphic design.
- Also, experience working with the Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Additionally, experience in conceptualizing, designing and implementing brand and visual identities for international organizations.
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
- Moreover, for the post advertised, the candidate should have fluency in English.
- Also, knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.

- Knowledge of brand and graphic design processes and procedures for the creation and maintenance of high-quality visual standards and graphic material for varied media projects.
