Job Title: International Trainer to prepare and conduct sessions on Hazardous Materials
Organization: Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE)
Duties
- Explain the impact of several of the hazardous substances and materials that are a part of the global supply chain, and how the necessity to regulate their control is reflected in border security and management strategies and implementation plans;
- Additionally, the candidate will introduce the assessment of the initiatives and commitments specific to hazardous commodities contained in international instruments and how these have been translated into national border security and management strategies and implementation plans;
- Also, he/she will explain how the border security and management systems are equipped to address organized criminal elements involved in the illicit movement of hazardous materials. Also, analyze efforts to fight organized crime in this area;
- Likewise, explain investigations, gathering evidence, sampling hazardous and other suspect materials, and analyzing data to properly assess regulatory compliance;
- Furthermore, classify hazardous materials and provide input on management plans.
Qualifications
- Higher education, qualification from a university, e.g. MA degree or equivalent qualification in customs, drug controls, chemistry, law enforcement, military or similar academic degree;
- Additionally, a minimum of 10 (ten) years of relevant professional experience in hazardous materials fields;
- Moreover, minimum of 3 (three) years of relevant professional experience in national and international organizations in the field of hazardous materials, customs, drug controls, border security, and management or related field, in development and delivery the training on migration and refugees;
- Also, a minimum of 3 (three) years of relevant professional experience in delivering training on hazardous materials topics, preferably on an international level;
- Relevant work experience and knowledge in the field of hazardous materials. Experience in the elaboration of lesson plans, terms of references, needs assessments, planning and delivering training courses, etc.;
- Likewise, the ability to moderate seminars, workshops, training sessions, and roundtables;
- Also, excellent teaching skills advanced trainer’s and lecturer’s skills and solid experience in adult education.
Additional Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills demonstrated analytical skills as well as the maturity of judgment;
- Additionally, excellent oral expressions in English or Russian;
- Also, demonstrate ability and willingness to work as a member of a team and with colleagues throughout the OSCE with people of different nationalities, religions and cultural and professional backgrounds as well as a different gender, diverse political views and approaches to problems, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
- Likewise, good knowledge of the OSCE and its area of operation. The previous work-experience within OSCE, UN or EU would be an asset;
- Demonstrate ability and willingness to cooperate with the BMSC Management in terms of consideration and accepting of their opinions and comments and adjusting the elaborated sessions/modules for the BMSC Staff Course to their needs and requirements;
- Furthermore, the potential to contribute to the academic field.
