HIAS is seeking three Program Officers to manage a research-intervention project led by HIAS, Columbia University, and the University of Copenhagen to develop and evaluate a psychosocial and protection intervention for refugees and other forcibly displaced persons

The main objective of the project is to discover how to effectively integrate psychosocial support in gender-based violence and protection services for refugees. This study consists of a formative and qualitative phase to develop appropriate measurement and intervention approaches, followed by a rigorous quantitative evaluation phase.

Qualifications for Vacancy for Program Officer 

• University degree in Psychology, Health, Social Work, or related careers. Preferably with a specialization in Investigation, Gender-Based Violence, or related.
• Also, professional interest in public health, research, mental health, protection, and health of vulnerable populations in situations of forced mobility.
• Likewise, a minimum experience of 3-5 years in implementation and development of SMAPS and/or GBV Programs in humanitarian settings. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in direct care for vulnerable populations. Two years minimum in research program management.
• Likewise, demonstrated experience in operationalizing global SMAPS standards and principles (MHPSS)
• Also, affiliation or association with local academic research institutions to facilitate local research associations and ethical approvals.
• Additionally, an advanced level of English and Spanish languages ​​(oral and written)
• Also, management of computer programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Likewise, leadership skills, teamwork, analytical skills, orientation to results, effective communication (oral and written); maintaining principles of respect for diversity, integrity, and responsibility.
