Duties

You will be responsible for overall activities related to Ground Segment Security Engineering in the Galileo Second Generation, including the definition and consolidation of requirements, as well as their verification, validation, qualification and certification. You will establish and coordinate activities within the Program and with industrial consortia, and liaise with Agency internal and external entities in the development of your duties.

Within the project boundaries and constraints, and under the supervision of the Head of the Galileo Second Generation System Security Services, the responsibilities of this post include:

• Leading the definition, analyses and consolidation of Ground Segment security requirements. This includes classified and unclassified aspects for which a tight coordination with the G2G System Engineering Services will be required;
• Similarly, supporting the implementation of overall security engineering for the G2 Ground segment, including security requirements flow-down, implementation follow-up, security operations engineering and maintenance of the Galileo Evolutions Mission Security Baseline;
• Also, supporting the correct implementation and technical end-to-end consistency of the security requirements at Ground Segment level;
• Likewise, the definition and maintenance of the security technical (functional, performance, operational) requirements applicable to the procurement of the Ground Segment infrastructure, and ensuring their overall traceability;
• Additionally, supporting the definition of the G2 Ground Segment verification, validation, qualification and certification activities, in support to the overall qualification of the security requirements at System level

Technical competencies for Vacancy for Security Engineer

• Knowledge and Experience in System Engineering, with focus on Ground Segment
• Also, Experience in Security engineering
• Knowledge and Experience in Satellite navigation system and related security architectures
• Furthermore, knowledge and Experience in managing industrial contracts

Qualifications

Education

A Master’s degree in telecommunications engineering or similar

Additional requirements

In-depth knowledge of security and the GNSS system. You should be able to coordinate, monitor and lead the engineering support provided to the Project in the relevant areas of expertise. Additionally, you should be able to demonstrate that you can work in a fast-paced environment. Likewise, handle pressure as may typically occur in a project team. Additionally, the incumbent should be results-oriented. Similarly, be able to set priorities, and to present practical solutions both verbally and in writing. Also, should have interpersonal and communication skills.
