Georgia Institute of Technology is a public research university in Atlanta, Georgia. Also known as Georgia Tech, the institute was founded in 1885 as Georgia School of Technology. It is organized into six colleges, consisting about 31 departments having emphasis on science and technology. It even has satellite campuses in Savannah, Georgia; Metz, France; Athlone, Ireland; Shenzhen, China; as well as in Singapore. Moreover, the institute is famous for its degree programs in engineering, computing, industrial administration, the sciences and design. Furthermore, it is in 8th position among all public national universities in the United States. Above all, it holds 69th position in the QS World University Rankings 2019.

Georgia Tech offers scholarships to its students besides its excellent academics. A range of scholarships are available to students on the basis of academic merit as well as need. Also, students may also be eligible for external scholarships. Namely the scholarships offered include BlackRock Hallac Scholarship, Stamps Scholarship. One of the scholarship offering full tuition cost is the Provost Scholarship. The Provost Scholarship awards 40 first-year, non-resident students an out-of-state tuition waiver for eight semesters.

Eligibility for Scholarship

Students selected as Provost Scholars are those who demonstrate extraordinary academic achievement, outstanding leadership skills, and have high potential to contribute inside and outside the classroom at Georgia Tech. The factors considered for selection of the Provost Scholarships are the same as for admission.

Scholarship Amount

The scholarship is for up to eight semesters of enrollment in an amount equal to the non-resident portion of tuition charges.

Renewability

12 credit hours during the semester is a must to be eligible for this award. Recipients must achieve and maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average.
