Stanford presents generous amounts of scholarships to its students, which is averaged to be $55,569 per year. 100% students have their need fully met. The financial aid program is need-based, meaning that all aid eligibility is as determined by information provided on the CSS Profile. For most of the students attending, scholarship from Stanford is the primary source of funding used to assist students with meeting their educational costs. Stanford Undergraduates are eligible to be considered for the Federal Pell Grant and Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant.

Determining Factors for Aid Eligibility

• All aid eligibility is determined by your family’s financial circumstances.
• All students with total (gross) family income of less than $ 65,000 receive average scholarship and grant amount of $74,095.
• Eligibility for Stanford Scholarship funds is based not only on family income level, but also on the size of the family, number of family members in college and family assets among other factors.

Applying for Aid

To be eligible for the scholarships at Stanford, you must first apply to the university by submitting

• Coalition Application  or Common Application 
• $90 nonrefundable application fee or fee waiver request
• SAT or ACT test scores
• School Report and counselor letter of recommendation
• Official transcript(s)
• Letters of recommendation from two teachers
• Midyear transcript (by February 15)

In order to qualify for financial aid, international students need to submit CSS Profile and IDOC whereas US Citizens and Eligible Noncitizens should FAFSA along with CSS Profile and IDOC.

The priority deadline for submitting the financial profile is November 15 for Early Action applicants and February 15 for Regular Decision applicants.
