Apply for the 1st European Solidarity Essay Prize 2020 Online. The deadline for the application is 20th June 2020.
Run by the charity Action for Education, they are inviting essay submissions from students of ages 13-18 to take part in the 1st European Solidarity Essay Prize. Additionally, the competition aims to encourage Secondary and High School students to engage with contemporary issues of solidarity in Europe during the COVID-19 period. Applicants can make submissions either individually, or via the school, and winning submissions will receive cash prizes of €300, €200, and €100, as well as publication in our online journal. Furthermore, a panel of professional authors and journalists will select these winning submissions.
Furthermore, Action for Education (AFE) is a grassroots nonprofit supporting refugee children and youth on the Aegean Islands in Greece. AFE also seeks to raise awareness and to work with European society to develop better ways of welcoming refugees.
The essay prize has two categories:
The Action for Education’s competition team will long-list submissions will be long-listed, and the top 10 essays in each category shortlisted for review by a panel of judges (to be announced). Additionally, 3 prizes will be distributed for each category with the same cash amounts:
