The Eiselen-Foundation, with a strong commitment to promoting young talented scientists, established the Hans Hartwig Ruthenberg-Graduate Award in 1999, alongside the Josef G. Knoll-European Science Award, to recognize exceptional diploma or master theses in the field of food security. Since 2010, the Foundation fiat panis has been entrusted with presenting the award, continuing this tradition into the 2024 Hans Hartwig Ruthenberg-Graduate Award.

Since 2010, the Foundation fiat panis has been responsible for awarding the prize. Professor Dr. Hans-Hartwig Ruthenberg, a distinguished figure in international-oriented German agricultural research and the successor to Professor Dr. Josef G. Knoll at the former agricultural college (now University) Hohenheim, holds a prominent role in this legacy.

The application deadline is April 30, 2024 (date of the postmark). Following the conclusion of the jury process, which is expected to be completed by mid-August 2024 at the latest, all applicants will be notified about the results.
