African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) Siza Grant Program 2025 (Up to $15,000)

Applications are now open for the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) Siza Grant Program 2025, a powerful initiative dedicated to supporting African women’s rights organizations and movements. The word “Siza,” derived from Zulu, means assistance or help, and it reflects the spirit of community, solidarity, and collective care that lies at the heart of this programme. The Siza Grant is designed to provide responsive, flexible funding to organizations that are addressing urgent needs, seizing emerging opportunities, or navigating crises in ways that promote women’s rights and gender justice. By offering timely financial support and nurturing resilience, the AWDF Siza Grant aims to strengthen grassroots efforts, amplify the voices of African women, and ensure that feminist and women-led initiatives can continue to thrive and create lasting impact across the continent.

This crisis response grant provides flexible funding to small grassroots and unregistered groups in building sustainable solutions in crisis and conflict areas. They refer to conflict areas not only as those experiencing civil war but forgotten conflict areas, and areas that aren’t considered as being in conflict but are experienced as such by women, girls and gender-diverse persons there. It will support responses before, during and after crises.
