Alpine Fellowship Writing Prize 2019 is calling for applications. The Alpine Fellowship is awarding this prize for the best piece of writing on the topic of ‘Identity’ – the theme of the 2019 Alpine Fellowship Annual Symposium. The Alpine Fellowship is a group of writers, thinkers and artists who are passionate about learning and communicating with a view to better understanding themselves and others. It values a capacity for openness, the courage to be vulnerable, and the drive for curiosity.

For Alpine Fellowship, it is important to support young people today who may have become somewhat disillusioned by the reality of It modern day education. It cares about discovering what an alternative model of education might look like. Hence the spirit of the enterprise is necessarily open ended, and it welcomes and seeks the support, contribution and presence of anyone who relates to what it cares about. Thus, it awards various prizes to appreciate the best works concerning the years’ theme.

Prize

• The winner receives £10,000 cash prize. Moreover, the poet John Burnside will award the prize.
• In addition, £3000 go to the second place, £2000 to the third place.
• Above all, the winner and two runners up will get invitations to attend the Fjällnäs symposium.

Eligibility

• Open to all nationalities, aged 18 and above.
• Above all, the writing can be of any genres
• A maximum of 2500 words per entry.
• Limited to one entry per person.
• Text must not have been published, self-published or accepted for publication in print or online, or have won or been placed in another competition at any time.
