Challenge yourself to create a unique design through an art garden competition that may become a revolutionary design for an art school.

Art Garden challenges you to draw a design inspired by the local art, architecture and culture. Your design should explore the intensity of architecture to direct experience through multi-sensory design intervention.

Design Requirements

Art garden competition must include the following features:

  • be an informal institute
  • can be a meeting hub for local artists for networking and exhibition
  • open or semi-open space for conducting outdoor classes
  • should engage the senses of sight, sound, smell and touch
  • promote social, cognitive, and emotional development along with practical skills.
  • accommodate functions like learning, exhibitions, live events that can consist of a large crowd
  • in addition, balance aesthetic and functionality; open, semi-open and closed space learning
  • establish harmony with the surrounding
  • design should respond to existing site condition
  • also, the design should consist of the given proportion:
  1.  should be able to accommodate 30 students
  2. exhibition hall, gallery, Cafeteria and terrace garden should occupy 30-40% of the area
  3. Staff space should occupy 10% of the area
  4. The remaining space should consist art garden, open studio, pavilion, courtyard and so on.

Participant Eligibility

  • The minimum eligible age for participation is 18 years.
  • You can participate as an individual or as a team of a maximum of 4 members.
  • All students and professionals can participate in the competitions.
  • However, if the participant is a student, he\she must be a full-time graduate\ undergraduate student
  • But, anybody working with UNI or related to the host are not eligible to participate
  • You should pay 40 USD per submission.

More than 1 submission can be done but they should be registered separately. Furthermore, the registration fee is nonrefundable.

Plagiarism is a serious issue in the competition and consequently, participants might be disqualified for this activity. Also, participants cannot maintain any contact with jury members.

Award nomination

The people’s choice award is applicable to all the participants. Participants can share their design to gain more likes and comments but the participants will be disqualified if they conduct any fraudulent activity.

The jury panels will select the winner within the following criteria:

  • Presentation
  • Concept/Idea
  • Programme/Spaces
  • Design Outcome

Similarly, the jury panels add other criteria for the judgement with internal discussion.

Award and Fee

  • Jurys score will nominate winner, runner up and honourable mention.
  • People choice is awarded on the basis of votes and likes by the people.
  • The organizer’s committee will award the ‘organizers choice award’.
  • Finally, Editiorial\ curatorial committee will award the editorial choice award.

If the competition gets 500 registered participants, the total prize pool will be 24,000 USD. So, the more teams you compete with, the higher the thrill, and the higher the prize amount.
