Carapelli for Art brings the second edition of International Art Competition and seeks artists to demonstrate their invaluable work. Carapelli Firenze S.p.A. started international art competition 2018 to mark its 125th anniversary. With the first edition of  International Art competition being widely successful among artists, Carapelli has put out a call for bold and brave artists who for the second edition of the art competition.

This year Carapelli set the theme Blending. The union between the varieties that leads to new value. It aims to underline the ability of art to harmonize what is different, in many different ways; from the formal and conceptual to the relationship with the public to the way in which the society receives artwork; and can act, directly or indirectly, on it. The artists are invited to interpret the current theme with their own research, through new or existing artworks that refer to it.

THE PRIZES

There are two prize categories for Carapelli for Art International Competition, with a total of €12.000 in prize money:

• “Open” category for all artists. For the two winners of this category, Carapelli Firenze S.p.A. will acquire the selected artworks with an amount of € 5.000 each.
• “Academy” category for students enrolled at Academies of Fine Arts. Two selected students will receive an award prize of € 1.000 each

Further, the winners have to agree to transfer all the ownership by accepting the prize and prize money. Moreover, Carapelli Firenze S.p.A will hold relative rights for publication and use of the artwork for economic purposes. In the meantime, the artist will receive the identification and citation for their artwork.

How To Apply

The 2019 “Carapelli for Art” award is open to all artists of any nationality working in the fields of painting, photography, sculpture, installation as well as video art and to the students of Academies of Fine Arts. Entries can be either new pieces or previous artworks, as long as these have not been entered in other competitions. Entries can be realized using any technique and materials. Artists must sign and receive the entries at the address notified to the winners by the organizers, at least fifteen days before the prize ceremony.

Further, Applicants are to submit their application online before the deadline. While submitting the online application, applicants must provide the following information:

• CV in English or Italian.
• Name, surname, city, phone number, email
• Likewise, Description and summary of the artwork (maximum of 500 words)
• Further, A maximum of 5 images of the entry (maximum 3MB each). Videos may be sent in using a YouTube or Vimeo link. Each link counts as one image

Deadline

Applicants must make their submission before July 15, 2019. The jury will announce the winner of the second edition of “Carpelli for Art” International Competition in September 2019.
