Applications call for Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2020.

There are two important parts to this competition. Firstly, it exists to recognize great photography, and more importantly, great photography that has captured a wild animal doing something so funny that it makes us snort into our cup of tea. Secondly, and really should be first as well, we are trying to raise the issue of conservation through a humorous, upbeat, and positive association with these animals. The simple idea behind it all is that we strongly believe humor and positivity have a major role to play in building awareness, interest and eventually action towards protecting the animals that live on this planet.

The categories of Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards are as follows

  • The Alex Walker’s Serian Creatures of the Land Category
  • The Spectrum Creatures in the Air Category
  • The ThinkThank Photo Junior Category
  • The Amazing Internet Portfolio Category
  • The Underwater Category
  • The Video Clip Category

Candidates will receive a beautiful certificate. They will receive a wonderful hand made metal trophy as the Winner from the Wonder Workshop in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Furthermore, the prize will be a one-week safari in Kenya for two people with Alex Walker’s Serian (the prize is to be used in one of their Masai Mara based camps in Kenya).

  • Candidates can enter up to a total of 6 images, with a maximum of three images into each category, plus 4 images into the Portfolio Category.
  • It must be 4 for this one, and up to two video clips of no more than 60 seconds into the Video Clip Category.
  • Each of the photographs entered must be in JPEG format, under 4MB per image.
  • If candidates reach the finals, they will have to provide high-resolution versions and the raw images or the original file the photo was taken on.
  • Candidates are much more likely to win if they enter one or two really funny images than four, sort of, funny images.
  • There are no restrictions on entering images that have been published before, but candidates must inform if they have won or been awarded in any other competitions.
  • They must also be the sole copyright owner of the entry images.
