The Durham University calls applications for the “Just Imagine if “competition for 2020. Interested candidates can apply until 2nd February 2020. It is an annual international social enterprise and innovation competition, hosted by Durham University and Ella’s Kitchen founder, Paul Lindley.

  • All nationals who have a business idea are eligible for this competition which tackles at least one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  • just IMAGINE if… exists to drive social, economic and environmental change in the world by helping little ideas become big impact realities.
  • Furthermore, ten shortlisted finalists will present their business idea in front of a panel of expert business leaders at the March 2020 final in Durham.

Value of prize

  • A leading businessperson and professional pitch training from One Young World will mentor each finalist to perfect their presentation ahead of the event and will attend a bespoke course at Durham Business School.
  • Furthermore, the winner will receive bespoke research support worth over £75,000 from Durham University
  • Also, he/she will get invaluable bespoke support from key business partners.

Eligibility

  • The competition is open for all nationals who have a  business idea/s that will tackle one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Selection Procedure

  •  The applicants must submit a video that will be evaluated by the judging panel.

Application Procedure

  • The applicants must demonstrate a clear vision of how the business idea will work and its viability.
  • Also, they should provide a clear explanation as to the sustainability and scalability of the business idea.
  • Similarly, they should provide a definition of which of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals the idea aims to tackle and how.
  • Furthermore, the candidates should explain the impact that winning the research prize will make on their business idea.
