Applications are now open for the 2019 “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity” Human Rights Prize of the French Republic. Which is awarded by the Prime Minister of the French Government.
This Prize, created in 1988, is in recognition and support for the completion of individual or collective projects. Further, that is carried out in the field, in France or abroad, regardless of nationality or borders, to promote and protect rights. Thirty years ago, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Likewise, To mark this occasion, the French National Consultative Commission on Human Rights (CNCDH) has decided to honor initiatives by young defenders. Further, working individually or collectively to promote and defend human rights.
Likewise, The expression “human rights defender” designates anyone who works individually or in association with others to promote or protect human rights. Further, Article 1 of the Declaration on Defenders states that “everyone has the right, individually and in association with others, to promote and to strive for the protection and realization of their fundamental freedoms at the national and international levels.”
Moreover, A human rights defender is someone who defends a fundamental right in their own name. Also, in the name of another person or group of persons. Defenders seek the promotion and protection of civil and political rights. As well as the promotion, protection, and realization of economic, social and cultural rights.
