The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) is pleased to announce a call for nominations for its second annual Mountain Prize, awarded to an individual or organization in recognition of their significant efforts to advance the mountain cause in the Hindu Kush Himalayan (HKH) region through innovations in their different capacities.
Moreover, The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) is a regional intergovernmental learning and knowledge sharing centre serving the eight regional member countries of the Hindu Kush Himalaya – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and also, Pakistan – and based in Kathmandu, Nepal. Further, Globalization and climate change have an increasing influence on the stability of fragile mountain ecosystems and the livelihoods of mountain people. ICIMOD aims to assist mountain people to understand these changes, adapt to them, and make the most of new opportunities while addressing upstream-downstream issues.
Further, Nominations will be for those individuals, organizations, or companies that have brought about transformative change in the HKH. Particularly, nominations for individuals or organizations with achievements in any of the following fields are encouraged:

A panel for the ICIMOD Mountain Prize will judge the submitted nominations and may invite appraisals by external experts to decide on the winner. Further, They may contact the nominator, nominee, and referee(s) for more information.
The panel will pick the winner and honorable mentions based on the following criteria:
Substantial weight is to works that address the complex problem(s) in an innovative/ingenious manner.
