This IFAD photo competition 2020 on the theme of youth and rural development is to promote youth participation in rural development in Latin American and the Caribbean. However, all the citizens of Latin America and the Carribean at the age group 18 to 35 can participate in this program.

We are looking for images that show young people engaged in rural areas in the region. Especially, with a focus on innovative practices and solutions. We will be selecting the winning entries based on originality, creativity, and connection with the theme. Be creative!

Award Benefit

The winners will have the opportunity to win a trip to join the award ceremony of the Rural Youth Innovation Award. Similarly, ten most beautiful photos will also be exhibited during the official ceremony of the Rural Youth Innovation Award in June 2020. Also, the top three winners will have the opportunity to receive training in digital communications. And the price also includes the expenses-paid trip to the ceremony.

In addition, all winning initiatives will have the opportunity to:

• Join events and travels to exchange experiences with other IFAD projects in the LAC region that are interested in replicating the award-winning initiative.
• Join events and exchange B2B experiences with companies to present their initiative to potential investors.
• Disseminate their initiative through the main communication channels from IFAD and/or
• other United Nations agencies, sponsors and partners (websites, digital media, and other channels).

The contest is part of the Rural Youth Innovation Award in Latin America and the Caribbean, and also IFAD initiative to identify, award and promote innovative youth-led initiatives in the region. Moreover, applications for the Award begin in January 2020.

Eligibility

• Participation is open to youth between 18 and 35 years old
• Also, participants must be the citizens and residents of a country in Latin America or the Caribbean.

• Write a brief description of the photograph (5-10 lines).
• Include your contact information.
