International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh is an annual film festival held countrywide, which showcases full-length features, shorts, experimental films made for and by children from around the world. Starting in 2008, it is one of the biggest film festivals in Bangladesh and also the only international film festival for children and young adults in the country. This year, from January 25-31, 2020, the festival aims to screen nearly 300 films created by renown and aspiring directors from all over the world.

Eligibility

Child Filmmakers’ Section (Under 18) – Bangladesh
Filmmaker’s Age: Up to 18 years old
Duration: The duration of the film should be less than 20 minutes

Child Filmmakers’ Section (Under 18) – International
Filmmakers’ Age: Up to 18 years old
Subject: Any subject.
Duration: Less than 20 minutes

Young Bangladeshi Filmmakers’ Section
Filmmaker’s Age: 19-25 years
Duration: The duration of the film should be less than 25 minutes

Special Competition Section Filmmaker’s Age: Up to 25 years old
Subject: ‘Bangabandhu Through My Lens’
Duration: Less than 20 minutes

International Film Section (Competitive)
Filmmaker’s Age: No limit
Subject: Any film made for or related to children.
Duration: No limit

International Film Section (Non-competitive)
Any filmmaker is eligible to submit their film in the non-competitive section only for festival official screening.
Filmmaker’s Age: No limit
Subject: Any film made for or related to children.
Duration: No limit

Submission Criteria

In order to qualify for International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh, your work must reflect or include the following things.

• Your personal information including your short biography and filmography as the director.
• Detailed information of your film including the technical details, full cast, and credit list, etc.
• Synopsis of the film (150 words) both in English as well as in the original language i.e. generally Bangla.
• Photograph of the director as well as at least 3 still photographs from the film.

In addition to that, the following papers must be sent in the DVD package or via Email:

• Xerox (for DVD package)/Scanned (for Email) copy of your birth certificate, national ID card, and passport. (Any of the mentioned documents proofing your age for the Child Filmmaker’s Section, Young Bangladeshi Filmmaker’s Section, Social Film Section)
• The consent letter with a parent’s signature on it. (For the child filmmaker’s section). For Email, a scanned copy is necessary.
