Applications call for Landscapes of Anthropocene Photo Contest 2020

The aim of the Landscapes of Anthropocene Photo Contest is to investigate and think on the current geological era, the Anthropocene, result of the massive men’s action transforming the environment and the places where we live. The selected pictures will be shown in the photographic exhibition Landscapes of the Anthropocene, which will be held at Gallerie di Piedicastello in Trento from March to December 2021.

Winners and benefits

• Selected photographs will be exhibited within the Anthropocene exhibition, next to Tom Hegen’s famous shots. These photographs will also be published in a dedicated catalog.
• For each theme category a winner will be selected, each of which will be awarded a prize of 250 €. In addition, the runner-up for each category will be awarded an honorable mention an will be able to display their photographs during the exhibition.

Selection Criteria

The photographies sent will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

• Compliance with the application category
• Originality
• Strength of the narrative concept
• Quality of the shot

Eligibility

The Landscapes of Anthropocene Photo Contest is open to all people between 18 and 40 years old (students, emerging photographers, amateur photographers, etc.).

Applications

The attachments must be sent from August the 10th 2020 at 8.00 am until September 6th, 2020 at 11.59 pm to the following e-mail: [email protected]. The e-mail subject has to be indicated as it follows: “Antropocene2020_NAME SURNAME” of the participant.

Timeline

• Call opening: 10th August 2020 at 8.00
• Registration deadline: 6th September 2020 at 23.59
• Announcement of the selected photographers: 30th September 2020
