Submissions are open for Rattle Porty Prize for $15,000!!!

Rattle is a publication of the Rattle Foundation, an independent non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the practice of poetry.

Eligibility

• Open to writers worldwide
• poems should be primarily in English (no translations except by the original author).
• Also, Rattle’s winter issue must be a potential first publication for all submitted works.
• No previously published works, or works accepted for publication elsewhere.
• In addition, simultaneous submissions are acceptable.

Moreover, notify Rattle immediately if any poems are accepted elsewhere.

On Submittable, login, click on the submission and send a message using that system to let Rattle know.

Prize

• The annual Rattle Poetry Prize offers $15,000 for a single poem that will have a publication in the winter issue of the magazine.
• Ten finalists will also receive $500 each and publication, as well as be eligible for the $5,000 Readers’ Choice Award.
• Additional poems from the entries frequently get an offer for publication as well.

Entry Fee

The entry fee is a one-year subscription to Rattle (or a one-year extension for subscribers) at a regular $25 rate.

Prior to May 1st, new subscriptions will start with the Summer 2022 issue, arriving in June. After May 1st, new subscriptions will start with the Fall 2022 issue, arriving September 1st. Current subscribers will receive a one-year extension.

Be sure to include all the poems that you’re submitting in a single file (.doc, .docx, .pdf, .rtf, .txt), removing any identifying information. Contact information is supplied through the online form and saved as metadata.
