The Civitas Project Association , as part of the Human Solidarity Festival, announces the call for the first edition of the Human Solidarity International Human Rights Photo Contest. The organizer invites professional and amateur photographers to submit a photo or project of up to ten (10 ) photographs that reflect the theme of human rights. But however the photos must contain specific reference to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights approved and proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly on December 10, 1948. The theme of this international Umana Solidarietà International Photo Contest 2020 is “The Human Rights”.

Eligibility

The Umana Solidarietà International Photo Contest 2020 on the theme “The Human Rights” is open to all photographers (professionals and amateurs, collectives, associations, groups, etc.). In addition to that, participation in the competition is free and open to all photographers and amateur photographers of any age and nationality. Candidates must be at least 13 years old at the time of entry. Each participant can upload up to 10 entries. The image format is free respecting the long side of at least 1920 pixels. The size of the photo should not be more than 5 MB. Each work (single photo or reportage) must title a title and any information useful to describe it.

Each participant is responsible for the works presented and for what is declared in the participation form. The author also guarantees that the images and the related rights that are conferred on the Organizer for the purposes of the competition itself do not harm the rights of third parties and that, apart from the cases in which the objective impossibility is identified, it has obtained the consent of the people possibly portrayed.

Prize and Awards 

The assessment of the Jury will award the ability of the photographer to build a narrative and emotional story with one or a compelling series of images. Moreover, all the finalist photos of the Contest will be displayed in an exhibition that will held in Lecce in September 2020, as part of the Festival Umana Solidarietà , and are eligible for publishing in the Festival Catalog, on the official website and on its Facebook , Twitter and Instagram channels.

The winning photos will receive:

• The Human Solidarity Human Rights Award 2020 for the first place;
• The Human Solidarity Human Rights Plate 2020 for the runner-up.
• In addition to that, other prizes and awards may possibly be made available by external bodies and sponsors and by the Professional Orders involved in supporting the event.
