Theme of the UNESCO Youth Eyes on the Silk Roads Photo Contest:

The Theme of the UNESCO International Photo Contest is “Women, Guardians of Silk Roads Heritage” and participants can take inspiration from the following:

• Women as writers, educators, artists, merchants, or scientists
• Traditional sports, games, music, musical instruments, dance, or oral storytelling practiced by women
• Intercommunity and multicultural gatherings led by women
• Portraits of women from Silk Roads regions
• Women practicing crafts such as weaving, embroidery, ceramics, or pottery etc

Eligibility Criteria for UNESCO Photo Contest 2025:

• Young people from all over the world can apply for the UNESCO Silk Roads International Photo Contest.
• The photo contest is divided into two age groups, 14 to 17 years old and 18 to 25 years old.
• Minors need to have written permission from their legal guardians in order to participate.
• All photos submitted for the competition must be original work. Participants can submit up to 20 photos.
• Participation is strictly personal, where the entrant does not impersonate or participate as someone else.
• Moreover, all images must meet the UNESCO Photo Contest 2025 theme.
• Basic edits are allowed on the photos, such as, adjusting brightness, contrast, colour, or cropping.
• Extreme doctoring of the image must be avoided and any edits done should be clearly mentioned in the description.
• All participants must submit high-resolution photos that can be printed on any media/format.
• The organizer holds all rights to remove any photo that does not meet the criteria.
