Applications call for the fully-funded European Development Days (EDD) 2020 Young Leaders Program in Belgium

Summary

The European Commission, the European Development Days (EDD) conducts the Young Leaders Program each year to share ideas and experiences in ways that inspire new partnerships and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. The EDD Young Leaders Program is a participatory program where candidates will have the opportunity to travel to Belgium. Since 2006, EDD has established itself as a key fixture in the world’s development calendar and is now widely considered as the ‘Davos of Development’.Many high-level speakers have honored the program with their presence over the past thirteen years.

Benefits

EDD is looking for 17 extraordinary young people of age group 21-26 who can represent the powerful impact that youth are having in the sustainable development field. The Young Leaders Program will consist of a 10-day visit to Brussels, where Young Leaders will meet EU experts, stakeholders and play a leading role in the EDD Programme, which will include speaking in various sessions alongside global leaders. The program will run from two days, 9th and 10th of June 2020 in Brussels, Belgium.

Eligibility 

• The competition is open to young people of age group 21-26 from all over the world.
• The candidates must have the will and potential to share their views and experiences in high-level debates alongside world leaders and other change-makers in the development field.
• Furthermore, candidates must be the one who has been playing an active role in the fight for gender equality and women empowerment at the local, national or regional levels.
