Harvard Model United Nation 2022 – Apply Now
join us for the 68th Annual Session of Harvard National Model United Nations in Boston, Massachusetts. At this point in time, the Secretariat is preparing for a return to a fully in-person HNMUN conference, to take place from Thursday, February 10th to Sunday, February 13th in 2022. Our conference prides itself in being more than an average Model UN competition. For nearly seven decades, HNMUN has served as an annual forum for over 1500 college-level delegates from across more than 40 countries to discuss the world’s most pressing issues and devise solutions to difficult challenges in international affairs. Participants at our conference form lasting friendships and connections that transcend boundaries, cross cultures, and extend far beyond the four days we spend together at conference. Staffed every year by over 150 undergraduate students from Harvard College, HNMUN remains the oldest, largest, and most prestigious collegiate conference of its kind, and our team is excited to continue our legacy of excellence as we embark on the journey to the 68th Session.
Despite the necessary restrictions posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we were still able to deliver a meaningful experience to our delegates this past February at HNMUN 2021 by transitioning to an online format. We recognize however that a virtual conference is not able to fully replicate the complete in-person HNMUN experience that our delegates and staff alike have come to know and cherish. As such, following extensive internal deliberations, our HNMUN 2022 Secretariat has unanimously committed to planning an entirely in-person conference for all intents and purposes. The health and safety of all participants, as well as full adherence to all state and university guidelines, remain our absolute top priorities. As such, HNMUN remains prepared to shift back to a virtual format if necessitated to do so by prohibitive guidelines. Nevertheless, we are closely monitoring vaccination rates and are cautiously optimistic that, following proper health precautions, a traditional in-person conference will be possible by spring of 2022. We remain conscious that an in-person conference may necessarily raise concerns of broader accessibility, an important issue which HNMUN hopes to continue to address with our financial aid program.
Starting on May 15th, registration will open and delegations will be allowed to begin applying for HNMUN 2022 through our exclusive online registration platform, MUNBase, which is also linked at the top of this website. Please note that in the event that HNMUN is later forced to switch to a virtual format, part of registration fees paid will be refunded in order to match adjusted prices. Thank you very much for your interest in Harvard National Model United Nations.
