With this belief, instilled by the founding brothers, James & John Chivas supported their local community as their business grew in 19th century Scotland. Today, more than ever, there is a pressing need to work together to build a more sustainable future for people and the planet. That’s why back in 2014 Chivas Venture initiated a global platform to support entrepreneurs who are solving the world’s biggest social and environmental issues. Every year, it gives away $1 million in no-strings funding and expert coaching at the Chivas Venture Global Accelerator Program. As such, Chivas is accepting the application for 2020 Global Venture Accelerator Program.
In the duration of 5 years, over 10,000 applications arrived while 120 startups received support with funding and coaching. From turning plastic waste into affordable housing, and cow manure into sustainable fashion, to tackling diabetes with agricultural waste, or lifting people out of homelessness through coffee, these startups have been redefining “business as usual” into “business as a force for good”. Collectively they have already enriched the lives of more than 2 million people in over 50 countries, across 6 continents.
Winners of Chivas Venture Entrepreneurship Challenge
Candidates selected to participate in the global entrepreneurship final will have the opportunity to win a share of $1 Million in funding. Each finalist will have the chance to tell how much funding they seek and how they believe this will make a difference for their business. The public voting will allocate the first $100,000. The finalist with the most votes will receive $50,000. Further, the 5 Finalists with the next 5 highest numbers of votes will receive $10,000 each.
The judges of the 2020 Chivas Venture Global Accelerator will allocate the remaining $900,000at the Global Final. The top 5 finalists will share an amount of $750,000 at the Grand Final, while 5 Semi-Finalists and 10 Quarter-Finalists will share a reward of $150,000.
Besides, the winners will also get to join The Accelerator Program, as well as receive global exposure. Further, they can also compete for local prizes. However, the winners competiting for the local prizes should abide by their rules.
Eligibility for the Chivas Venture Global Accelerator
Candidates are eligible to participate in the Chivas Venture Global 2020 Accelerator Program if they are:
- The founder, co-founder or a key decision-maker representing the business throughout the competition.
- Candidates must at least be 21 years old or over (as of 31 October 2019). Further, they must be fluent in English.
- For-Profit Startup registered in the country you’re located should earn no more than $1.5 million in annual revenue (from 1 September 2018 to 1 September 2019).
How to apply for the Chivas Venture Global Accelerator Program?
Participants/Startups eligible, can participate in the Chivas Venture Accelerator Program by registering for the competition online. Further, the candidates must also note that, they should complete the online registration before the deadline.
Deadline
Chivas Venture Global Accelerator Program accepts the application until 31 October 2019. Application arriving after the deadline are not eligible to participate under any circumstance.
