UNWTO’s third edition Globalitio Gastronomy Tourism Startup Competition has opened the application.
Its mission is to identify challenges and projects and catalyze innovations that can transform the Gastronomy Tourism sector in the future.
Criteria
Scope into the Gastronomy Tourism Sector
Degree of comparative disruptiveness
Focused on meeting unmet social needs in different realms, to foster employability of young and/or vulnerable people, depopulation of the territory, population ageing and/or gender equality; and with tangible indicators to that effect.
ability to generate a change in society, improving the social conditions of the beneficiary groups and/or promoting their recognition before society.
also, product or service prototypes are tested with already measured or measurable results.
agile implementation in the short-medium term for co-development of products/services, optimizing the use of existing resources/infrastructure and ability to scale the product.
In addition, committed team.
Linking and tangible social impact metrics concerning the priority SDG.
All the startups developing and promoting a startup on the following are eligible:
a high technological component to provide solutions or new services related to the Gastronomic Tourism sector.
a project with a high component of transformation and social improvement in its area of implementation and that is attached to the Gastronomic Tourism sector.
a project with a high component of sustainability and/or food waste management related to the impact generated by tourists

Opportunity to present your startup at the 7th UNWTO Gastronomy Tourism Forum in Japan
Use of space in the LABe- Digital Gastronomy Lab facilities for 6 months.
Furthermore, participate as a finalist company in the corresponding edition of Culinary Action
Advanced Plan of the GOe Digital Community for 6 months
Selection Process
The jury will select 3-5 projects per category and select the winning project.
Also, the 3-5 project winning projects per category will have the opportunity to attend the final event.
During the selection process, the jury will evaluate the winning project in each category based on the project, its territorial scope, the potential for transformation and social improvement.

Advanced Plan of the GOe Digital Community for 6 months
Furthermore, in this period of 6 months, BCC will take at its discretion the decision to continue the relationship with the startup and develop an individual work plan.
