Fully Funded International Summer School in Georgia is calling for applications. The ICMPD is organizing this International Summer School on Migration for the 6th time. The summer school is a joint initiative by three ICMPD-led projects: MOBILAZE, ENIGMMA 2 and the Prague Process Dialogue, Analyses and Training in Action.

The purpose of the one-week Summer School is to develop and foster critical academic exchange and reflection on migration issues among master students and young professionals of different disciplines. The programme of the Summer School features research-oriented, multidisciplinary and innovative courses addressing the migration situation and policy in the EU and worldwide. The Summer School programme will include lectures and/or workshops on the following topics

  • Introduction to Migration Studies
  • Migration Research Methods
  • Also, migration and Development
  • Migration and Economy
  • International migration law including asylum and human rights/security nexus
  • Migration and Media

Benefits

The projects will provide full board and lodge free of charge, as well as travel costs to all students. Also, there will be no participation fee. Furthermore, the ICMPD summer school team will organize all logistical and administrative issues such as flight and hotel booking, transport, etc.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Citizens from Armenia, Albania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan
  • Above all, strong interest in migration-related issues covered by the programme of the international summer school
  • In addition, a profound knowledge (written and oral) of English language
  • Students of media, international law/migration law, economy, migration studies, history, demography, social and political sciences or a related field
  • Likewise, professional staff of state institutions involved in migration management in the above countries
  • Similarly, members of civil society organisations in the field of migration in the above countries
  • Moreover, excellent intercultural skills taking the international character of the summer school into account
