The ONE Champions Program aims to empower citizens at local level to lead and drive change on ONE issues with their policymakers as well as communities using locally relevant channels and tactics. Moreover, champions helps them reach members who share the same passion for change. Their role in any year is to focus on and amplify the priorities ONE Africa is working. Also, all the information will be provided at the inception of the Champions program in Senegal and Mali.

About ONE

ONE is an international campaigning and advocacy organization supported by more than 9 million people around the world working to end extreme poverty and preventable diseases, particularly in Africa. ONE’s office in the Francophone West Africa Region, based in Dakar, is launching the ONE Champions Program in Senegal and Mali. Furthermore, the purpose of this volunteer program is to recruit, train and support 25 emerging leaders aged 18 to 35 who will support ONE’s causes at the national level. In addition, their advocacy campaigns cover the areas of education including girls, gender, agriculture, transparency, good governance and health as ways to eradicate poverty and preventable diseases.

ONE Champions are vibrant group of volunteers who work to support ONE Africa’s advocacy work. Also, they lobby decision makers, recruit and manage public support for causes ONE is promoting.

Eligibility

  1. Be between 18 and 35 years of age and reside in Senegal or Mali
  2. Have a certain level of education (BFEM or DEF at least)
  3. Be willing and ready to engage in the ONE Champions Program year-round
  4. Have the basics in terms of using social networks
  5. Passion for creating change
  6. Proven commitment to end poverty
  7. Interest in engaging policymakers on issues of relevance
  8. Good social media and general communication skills
