ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

The PSONI host organization in Gdansk (Poland) is looking for 1 volunteer to carry out service in their centers for people with intellectual disabilities: – in occupational workshops (arts, sports, teaching English, etc.), – in the children’s school young people aged 7 to 23, where the educational component is enriched with sporting, musical, artistic activities, etc., – in the day center, – in apartment groups for the autonomy of users. In addition, the volunteer will participate in other activities such as the “Best Buddies” project, the musical group and the inclusive theater group.

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

The project will welcome a total of 7 volunteers, who will share 3 independent apartments, where each volunteer will have his own room. The accommodation is close to the workplace and volunteers will receive a pass for public transport. The Program provides for the reimbursement of return trips between Italy and Poland at the beginning and end of the experience, as well as food for the whole experience.

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

The support organization will provide pre-departure preparation online. The ESC Program includes an online language course for the duration of the experience, an on-arrival training and an intermediate evaluation organized by the Polish National Agency.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

PSONI Gdansk is looking for 1 Italian volunteer or legally resident in Italy, between 18 and 30 years old. No particular characteristics are required in addition to: – desire to get involved – propensity to work with people with disabilities – taste for art, music, theater …
