The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) calls applications for SIDA International Training Program 2020 for Media Regulations. Moreover, this is a fellowship program that provides a forum and platform for constructive, creative dialogue between high-level representatives from media, government and civil society on how to improve self-regulatory and regulatory frameworks for media.
There are currently four editions of this program targeting different geographical areas: Southern/Eastern Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe); Latin America (Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras); Asia (Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam); and Eastern Europe (Armenia, Moldova, and Ukraine).
The overall objective of this program is that the participants and their supporting organizations should contribute to the promotion and protection of the institutional frameworks that govern the self-regulation of the media sector. More specifically, this program aims to contribute to the development of self-regulatory frameworks for the media sector, strengthening the institutional and organizational capacities among relevant stakeholders and contributing to national reform and change processes.
