Applications are now open for the Winter School at University College Dublin, Ireland. The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at University College Dublin is proud to invite PhD candidates. Further, conducting research aligned with the New Political Economy of Europe: Re-Engaging the Street project. UCD’s Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at the Dublin European Institute is to advancing new teaching. Also, research in the European political economy.UCD’s Dublin European Institute (DEI) is the oldest also largest university center for research on European politics in the Republic of Ireland. Further, itwas established in 1990 as the Centre of European Economic and Public Affairs (CEEPA), which in 1998 was a Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence by the European Commission.
This event will be by UCD’s School of Political Science and International Relations (SPIRe). Guest speakers for the 2020 Winter School include: Dorothee Bohle (Professor of Political Science at the European University Institute), Jonathan Hopkin (Associate Professor of Comparative Politics at the London School of Economics), and Manuela Moschella (Associate Professor of International Political Economy at the Scuola Normale Superiore) as well as UCD and Centre faculty Aidan Regan (Assistant Professor, School of Politics and International Relations), James Cross (Assistant Professor, School of Politics and International Relations), Marie Moran (Assistant Professor, School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice) and Roland Erne (Jean Monnet Chair in European Integration and Employment Relations, School of Business).
The 2020 Winter School will be at the UCD campus on 15 – 17 January 2020. It will feature two days of seminars, lectures, also workshops, each of them devoted to one of the Centre’s areas of research: democratic legitimacy, economic governance, and electoral politics. Successful applications would address one of these areas and should include a paper/chapter + CV.
